I decided not to take a hairdryer on holiday as I knew it would be very warm plus I was running out of room in our suitcase! On hot days drying my hair is unbearable as it's long and thick and takes quite a while to do- I really don't want to be getting a sweat on right after getting out the shower! My hair is naturally wavy when left to air dry but it also gets quite pouffy and wild so I needed to take some products with me to help the waves look more sleek and defined. The first one I got was a tube of Urban Therapy Twisted Sista Curl Activator, which I picked up from Bodycare for just 99p. It is described as a cream moisturiser to activate curls and eliminate frizz which delivers volume, bounce and curl definition to naturally curly, afro or permed hair. You can apply it to wet or dry hair from root to tip, however I mainly focused on the mid lengths to ends to avoid my hair being weighed down. It is quite a thick cream but once rubbed between my hands it was easy to distribute. Scent wise this smells fantastic! Just like melon! What's most important though is whether it works and, for me, this definitely helped calm my hair down and made my waves look less frizzy.
Apologies also for the less than sharp piccies!
Another product I got was a 100ml bottle of Trevor Sorbie Beautifully Moisturised Humidity Control Spray. This was a bit of an impulse buy as I wasn't planning on buying it but I found it on the clearance shelf at Boots for something like 80p- at that price I couldn't just leave it there! I also had high hopes for it as I've previously bought the mini Beautifully Moisturised shampoo on clearance and really liked it. It is described as a final barrier for frizz prone hair and can be used on all hair types including colour treated hair. You can spray it on damp or dry hair but I spritzed it on whilst my hair was still damp. It says to spray it at arms length but I tended to spray it on my brush and apply it that way to really coat my hair with it. Again this was very effective and also had some hold. It worked well at keeping down frizzy bits when I tied my hair up. I think this is being discontinued as it seems the Trevor Sorbie range has had a makeover but if I see another bottle on clearance I may well pick it up as well as any other travel sized ones that may crop up.
If you have curly/wavy hair what do you use to manage it? I'd love some recommendations on other products as I really like wearing my hair wavy- when I can make it behave that is!

Back from hols!
Hey! I got back from my holiday with my boyfriend yesterday and just thought I'd say hi and share with you some photos from our time there. We went to Ca'n Picafort in Mallorca and had a lovely time enjoying the sunshine and gorgeous sea- it was so clear and an amazing colour! Oh and cocktails come pretty high up on the list too, especially frozen strawberry daiquiris!
On a beauty related note my hair went a bit wild in the heat with no hair dryer so my next post will be about what products I used to tame it a bit so I could wear it naturally without looking too much like dougal!
Hope you are all well! :-)
Our view from the balcony. The sea always looked so inviting!
Alcudia Port.
Me looking a bit dozy with my hair au naturel (with a little bit of help!)
Messing with my camera settings and capturing Stuart and his mahoosive beer!
Yummy bread and alioli.
Long Island Iced Tea. Complete with jazzy parrot.
Beach at Alcudia Port.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick- Berry Rose
As always I am being a bad blogger and neglecting my blog! School is so busy this time of year that I just haven't felt up to writing a post unfortunately. We break up next Tuesday though and I have got two weeks off before starting my summer job so hopefully in between going on holiday to Majorca and doing some other jobs (like overhauling my wardrobe) I'll have some time to get some posts done!
I haven't really bought much make up lately but on Saturday I popped to town to get some bits for my holiday and had a nose in Poundworld whilst I was there. Here I found a Rimmel Moisture Renew lippie in the shade Berry Rose. I'm a sucker for pinky lipsticks so for a pound I had to get it. I've also heard good things about this range so thought I'd see for myself. The picture makes it look darker that it is but it's a medium, jammy pink with a shimmery finish. Berry shades are synonymous with autumn but as this is quite bright and vibrant it makes a great choice for summer! The texture is lovely and smooth and as the name would suggest, is very moisturising. It does have a scent but it's nothing offensive and you can't detect it once it's on.
All in all a fab little bargain and one hopefully I'll be using lots over the summer. Which reminds me, it also has spf 18 which is a nice bonus.
Apologies for the poor picture quality and the shoddy application!

Garnier Pure Active Make-Up Remover Purifying Gel
I've been using this cleanser for about 2 weeks now and so far I'm really impressed! What sold it to me is that it is a 2 in 1 product that can be used for face and eyes and removes even waterproof make-up. It is also formulated for oily skin that is prone to imperfections so it really is a multi-tasker! It is a foaming gel cleanser that contains salicylic acid as well as 'soothing make-up removing agents'. Foaming cleansers can be drying but this doesn't leave my skin feeling tight at all. It also doesn't sting my eyes and removes make up very well-even stubborn waterproof mascara. Normally products for oily spot prone skin can be quite harsh but this is surprisingly gentle whilst still being effective. I haven't had any breakouts since using this. I use this in the shower and it really does save time as I hate faffing around removing my eye make-up separately before hopping in. I highly recommend it!
I got this for £4.99 from Boots.

Andrew Barton The Frizz Tamer Tame It Mask
I love trying out hair masks and treatments as my hair can get really dry and bushy. Attractive. It's also gotten worse since I had it highlighted again and I'm really struggling to get a brush through it once I've washed it! So anything that can can make it a bit more soft and sleeker is very welcome!
I found this sachet whilst having a mooch in Home Bargains. I've lost the receipt so I'm not sure how much it was but it was definitely under 50p. I'm hoping to go back and get a few more today so I'll put in the price later! **they're 39p!** This mask is part of the Shiny Happy Hair collection- 'a collection of no fuss, no nonsense hair products, that work.' I noticed on the back it says that it is produced exclusively for Asda so it's more than likely a discontinued item. The packaging also tells me that this treatment contains rice bran oil and pomegranate seed oil as well as shea butter to help fight frizz. I used all of the 20ml sachet when I tried it but if you have shorter or finer hair then you could get a few more uses out of it. I wasn't crazy about the scent but it wasn't awful and really, as long as it works, I'm not too bothered about what it smells like. Thankfully it did work and I was left with softer and more shiny hair. It also didn't leave my hair feeling heavy like some masks can. Overall this was really effective and makes a great cheap treat for your hair!
Sorry for the crappy dark photo!

Vie Dream Lashes Maximum Impact Mascara
After my little whinge yesterday about the Benefit mascara, I have nothing but praise for today's! I got this at Home Bargains for a pound, I think! Well it was a quid or £1.99-still very cheap! Vie Dream Lashes mascara has a primer on one end and the actual mascara on the other. I got this in Black/Brown as I just assumed they were all black but it's still pretty dark, especially on my fair lashes. The instructions say to brush on the 'Volumising Primer' and let it dry and then go over with the 'Enhancing mascara'. It says to avoid contact with the inner eye, probably due to fibres in the primer. It's also not suitable for contact lens wearers. This is a bit disappointing but I wear my glasses more often so it's not a big issue. The peachy coloured primer really does seem to help beef up my lashes and make them longer and the mascara glides on afterwards smoothly with no clumping. I was surprised at how much volume and definition it gave after just one coat. Overall for the price you really can't complain and I would definitely recommend checking it out. I haven't tried it yet but I also picked up a Vie mineral powder foundation there too. I'm hoping I'm as impressed with that as I am with this!
I really wish I could have gotten a picture of it on my lashes but my camera is too rubbish at close ups!
